Lily shook her head while she was frowning. “No I don’t think it’s right though. Jealous or afraid or whatever, if you invite someone into your house you should be nice and kind to them, and not be grateful that they just gave you a room.” She said as she shook her head. “It’s not right.” She said.
A smile spread onto Lily’s face and she nodded, proud of him, though being confused at the feeling of pride. She smiled. “It’s better to just get it out of the way.” She said simply. “Or at least that’s what I’m told. Just don’t go on and on about it or anything.” She added as she thought about how James Potter had continued to ask her out over and over again. She rolled her eyes at the thought.
“Yeah but there’s a difference between having fun and acting like complete idiots, and trying to get on my nerves and everything.” She said with another roll of her eyes. “I swear half the time I think they do it just to bother me.” She said as she rubbed her hand through her hair slowly and combed out the ends with her fingers.
When he spoke of being an auror she smiled and nodded. “Same here.” She said as she nodded. “Better to help out where we can with this war than just sit back and take it.” She said before thinking curiously. “Never thought of working with dragons or curse breaking though. Really if there wasn’t a war I think I’d be after Professor Flitwick’s job. Charms is one of my favourite subjects.” She said with a slight grin.
Lily looked at Harry amused. “Okay, how do you know about him being a half-blood? I only found out because I’m Slughorn’s favourite pupil and he was blabbering on about it a while ago.” She said with a roll of her eyes. A sudden feeling of dread washed through her. “Please tell me you aren’t like…aspiring to be like him, or aspiring to go after him or anything. That would not be good.” She said.
Lily looked at the boy in front of her shocked and slightly concerned. “What the hell have you been through in your life?” She asked as she shook her head. “It seems like you’ve already had far too many adventures, by the time you’re twenty you’ll have more stories than any of the old witches and wizards down at The Leaky Cauldron.” She said with a slightly teasing tone to her voice.
