When: September 1st 1976 - Early Morning Where: Great Hall - Breakfast Tables Who: Harry Potter and Sirius Black OOC Notes: Thread closed and archived due to loss of player for Sirius Black
Harry was only slightly worried about going to this new time, and was almost convinced it was all just a dream. A wonderful blissful dream where he actually got to know his parents, and those they knew and had fun with. It was a little hard to get over the fact that he was in the same year as his parents, Sirius, and Remus. While Harry was confused, he didn't let him stop from going through school. It was actually nicer here. He didn't have to worry about Voldemort yet, and no one except the transfers knew him as the chosen boy, or the one who lived. Really if they only got back to their time by living 20 years, he would be ok with that, though not completely happy with it. It would give him time to train and prepare against Voldemort. The question was, would he try to save his parents from death?
Harry James Potter, or distant cousin of James Potter as he would go by until he went back to his own time or woke up, headed down the steps from the common room, only a slight smile on his face, and entered the Great Hall. Everything was lighter, and much less tense. It was perfect, except for the fact he would have to make sure no one messed up his mum and dad's chances of having him on time. Seeing as he was one of the first ones there, which almost never happened, Harry chose a random seat at the table, sat down, and ate.

Sirius of course was not a happy camper today. His parents sent him a letter and he got an ear full of complaints. Of course they would complain to him, they never had anything else better to do. He was walking along the halls for the moment thinking of all the things his parents had told him. If only he could do something about his parents, oh he would, he certainly would. No doubt he hated his old folks. After all, he was a Gryffindor and they hated him for that among other things as well. He loved being who he was after all he had a family outside of his own flesh and blood. He was grateful of them everyday of his life.
He walked towards the ground floor and knew he was late already for a class. He knew he could convince the professor that something came up. He knew he would get away with that excuse as well. Sirius was a decent student but he always joked around. He would get away with almost anything. Although people always didn't like his jokes, but James did and so did he. He came across a table and swore it was James. He made his way over. He couldn't wait to tell him his next idea on a joke he had in mind. He came up right behind Harry not realizing it was actually someone else except his best friend, James.
"James!" He yelled. "I got a great idea for our next prank." he said with a grin on his face. He knew it was going to be a great idea.

A familiar voice came from behind Harry, one that he had grown to know of as one of his favorite people, Sirius Black. Of course it had minor changes, such as it was slightly higher, but that was to be expected since Sirius was younger than Harry knew him. Harry bit his lip for only a second thinking of how Sirius had been yanked from him by Bellatrix. But that hadn't happened yet, he still had Sirius. And Sirius had mistaken him for his dear beloved father, James. Everyone always said that he looked just like his father, except for his green eyes as they were so signature to his mother, Lily Potter, or Evans now, right?
Harry turned around to see Sirius standing behind him and he couldn't force back the small smile that sprouted on his face. "James? James Potter?" Harry asked as if he didn't know, "I think you've gotten me mistaken, I'm Harry." Oh how bright and cheery Sirius seemed, which Harry had seen rarely in the short time he knew his godfather. Harry had to force back a chuckle, and suppress a smile growing larger on his face, as Sirius would probably find him weird.
"Are you... Sirius Black?" Harry said acting as if he didn't know it was Sirius, but it clearly was, even if he looked a whole lot younger and sounded slightly younger, "It's nice to meet you," Harry held out his hand for Sirius to shake it, "As I said before, I'm Harry Potter, James is a distant cousin of mine."

When he saw James turn around, a shock expression appeared on his face, than it changed to embarrassment. He could have swore it was James, it looked just like him from behind. He didn't know how to explain it. He knew he could make a mistake but his best friend out of all people? Even he found it hard to come by. He looked at Harry for a long moment with a blank stare. They wouldn't have been related could they? He knew he would have to find out who this look alike was. Sirius was not one to kid around, although he was a prankster, he was pretty much on his feet with things. You can't fool a prankster, pranksters are good liars, he can sense it pretty well. For now he knew he should listen to what he had to say.
"Yes, I'm Sirius Black. Who wouldn't know me?" he said with a bright grin on his face. Of course, him and his pals were popular because of their pranks and fun. It was hard to believe this 'Harry' did not know about them. Maybe he was wrong about being popular, its not like the kid did anything wrong. He knew he would have to hear him out to see who he was. He lifted an eyebrow when he offered his hand, Sirius took his hand and shook it. Before he didn't notice, but he saw that Harry was a Gryffindor and that placed his mind at ease. At least he wasn't a snake, that would have been a shame. He than let his hand go and cleared his throat.
"Thats interesting, I know of James family really well. I never heard of a Harry." He said as he looked at him. He knew he would have to ask James himself about this Harry, cousin Harry.

Harry tried hiding his joy at Sirius' shock. Now all that he had to do was pick a distant cousin number, like 8th cousin, and make it so it was believable, yet it was a lot harder than he thought. Plus he had to stick with the story until they went back to his time. And maybe even convince James and Lily to name their kid after... well their kid. But that wasn't high on his priority list. Sirius looked so much like his older self, just not the almost wild look with the long almost bushy hair he had grown out probably in Azkaban.
"Oh, well... You see I'm a transfer, from the..." Harry had to quickly think and remember back to what Dumbledore had said to go with, "United States." Then it came to him. A cover story, while not the best, that would suffice for now. Later he might expand a little on it, but not anything too much. Harry shook his hand with Sirius when he had done the same. This wasn't a dream, was it? To be shaking his godfather's hand once more when he had just lost him last June, couldn't be real. He had just gotten over the grief for the most part, and once he did Sirius had been given back to him. Not for long through, Harry knew he had to return to his own time, and wanted to, even if it meant never seeing his family ever again.
"Oh see, me and James Potter are very distant cousins. 9th cousin, twice? removed? I think that is right. When I was told I was going to transfer over here, well I did a little research to see if I had any family here," Harry explained. Yes, that should work for now. If anyone asked any other questions it wouldn't be too hard. His accent could be explained saying he lived here most of his childhood and moved to America when the Salem Academy had sent him a welcome just before the Hogwarts letters came out, and the story would not be too hard to keep up with, as long as it wasn't complicated.

Sirius didn't know if he should trust this Harry characters or not. He knew he looked like James, if he didn't notice the eye color, he could have mistaken them for twins. He did wonder where he saw those eyes before but he couldn't place his finger on it. It probably meant nothing to him anyways. He figured maybe he should just relax anyways, its not like this was the end of the world scenario or something like that. Sirius knew he could be on the edge at times, probably why he wasn't one to take a joke when he was pretty clueless himself. He knew he should make more sense of things, but Sirius didn't feel like thinking much of it. After all, if Dumbledore let them stay, they couldn't be bad right? How horrible could they be?
"Oh I heard about those Americans." he stated simply, not wanting to press the matter. He didn't want to scare the kid after all right? He didn't have a reason, but he felt like he should ask James about it just in case. It felt odd though, Sirius though he had met all his relatives, was it possible that James had miss a few or maybe forgot them? Maybe a fight? Who knows, he was sure Harry wouldn't just be here for any reason anyways. He knew Harry was here to be with James most likely, maybe get along better? Who knows, again this was something he would have to ask James. Sirius figured he should just welcome it right now.
"Well welcome, any cousin of James is a cousin of mine. Of course you wouldn't want to meet my family. Horrible....creatures" he shivered at the word 'creatures' knowing that wasn't a big enough word to cover what his family really was. More like monsters or something of that sort. They were really horrible, he hated how his family was. Sirius was the black sheep of it all really. He didn't even get along with his younger brother. All well, those things tend to happen after all anyways. He smiled as he looked at Harry.
"How old are you anyways?" he asked as he looked at Harry. He couldn't place his finger how old the guy really was but he was trying to figure it out in his head.

Harry could tell that Sirius was slightly suspicious, maybe more, but Harry could tell he was only slightly. This was harder than he thought it would be to keep his true lineage a secret. Of course if he told anyone from here, well they would just think he's joking. Harry wanted Sirius to trust him, but he knew it would have to happen with time. It wasn't like Sirius and the other marauders just went around and made friends with everyone and trusted everyone. Harry knew it would take some time before he was able to be a great friend of the marauders, and his mother.
"I prefer it here anyways, a lot nicer climate," Harry said with a smile, not actually knowing how Americans really were, but he knew he would prefer it here with those he loved than there with those he didn't know. He knew once he returned to his own time he would fight until he could fight no more, even if it meant he couldn't act like a normal teenager, since he had responsibility and the wizarding world thrust upon him. Though he didn't doubt that Voldemort could be defeated without him, but he would still try and make it easier to defeat him.
Harry chuckled at Sirius' comment about how bad his family was, and from the way the portrait of his mother acted Harry could tell that Sirius' statement about them being 'horrible... creatures' was almost an understatement. "I think I've heard about your family... does it include that Slytherin... Bellatrix I believe her name is?" Harry asked, almost disgusted by the name of Bellatrix. Harry knew he needed to play dumb and pretend to know little about them, to make it seem like he didn't know a lot about them. Harry didn't like playing dumb though, but he was going to keep up with it at least for a little bit, as to make them think his story was actually true.
"I just turned 16 last month, so yeah 16 years old," Harry stated with a smile, "How about you?" Harry had already calculated it, since it was 20 years ago and Sirius would be 36 in 1996, so he'd be in his year too.

For some reason, Sirius felt like he could get along with this Harry fellow. Mmaybe it was that fact that he was related to James and Sirius always got along with James and his family. He figured it wouldn't hurt but Sirius wasn't going to reveal any secrets of course. He couldn't say he could transform into a wolf or the fact that his best friend Lupin was a werewolf. Now they would do some serious damage with that information. They would have tried to kill Lupin or worse if someone else had found out. It was hard enough to make sure Lupin was in line and not killing individuals around Hogwarts. Now wouldn't that break the news headlines. Oh he could think of it now, although he rather not. It was hard enough worrying about the moon phases and such and Lupin's painful transformation.
He sighed for a moment. Oh Slytherins, how he hated them. Only because they were awful human beings. He couldn't even think about it and his reaction to what Harry said about Bellatrix made him shake his head. "I hate that woman...she never shuts up...I wish they throw her in Azkaban along with a few other family members...wouldn't that be the prank of a lifetime?" he snickered a bit. That got him thinking a bit, it would solve all his problems in a flash, but one against a few would not be the best idea. Of course, he was the black sheep and he was outside of those family affairs. He had enough of all of them gaining up on him about him being Gryffindor and how much he loves muggles.
"I'm sure your family is good. Potters are great. Did you leave your parents back in America?" He figured he asked, it wouldn't hurt to ask right? He talked about his family, why not let Harry give him a little insight about his family. He was sure that his family couldn't be as bad as his own. He felt like he was tortured daily and it was worse everytime in the summer as well. "Well thats good. I'm sixteen as well. Sadly, I wish I was younger, but of course everyone thinks I'm just as nuts as my family." he chuckled and just shook his head from side to side. He only wished that so he could spend more time with James and his other best friends.

It was just refreshing being around Sirius for some reason. Almost like Sirius (or probably any one of the people he wanted to meet and become friends with) breathed joy into his life. Everything seemed dark in his time. He had no one besides the Weasleys as a family like situation. While he could never have the son/father relationship with Sirius now that they had in the future, Harry was still just glad to have him. Just think of the confusion Sirius would have if he knew what thoughts went through Harry's mind. He had a feeling that Sirius would ask a whole lot of questions of why he thought these things. But he wasn't a mind reader so it didn't matter one way or another.
"We could always try sometime," Harry replied back, not being too serious, just joking around, though knowing she would be thrown in there eventually, "There are a whole lot of them that probably will end up there someday, including that woman." Harry didn't want to let on too much of what he knew about the future, but left a bit of a hanger on the end there. It would probably peak Sirius interests, but he didn't really care. He just had stopped himself from saying much more about the future and those who would end up in Azkaban, including Sirius. It was sad to think that Sirius would be locked up for years for something he didn't do.
"Oh... well my parents are dead, I'm living on my own right now," Harry said truthfully, even if his parents were alive, they were dead for most of his life at least, an he was used to the fact that he had no parents, and seeing as Petunia and Vernon weren't together, or at least Harry thought, he was living on his own. What would he say to Petunia anyways, 'Hey I'm your sister's son from the future, could I live with you?' That would be just stupid. So no, he was living on his own right now, though he had a feeling Dumbledore would allow them to stay over the summer at Hogwarts given their unique situation. "Well if it makes you feel better, I don't think you're just as nuts as your family. You seem quite decent, probably better than decent."

He chuckled. He had a feeling he was going to like this kid, he seemed to have a good feeling about him, he just didn't know why or how to explain it. Sirius remembered that when he first met James. It seems as though apples don't fall far from the tree and Sirius didn't mind anyways, it would be nice to know that he could get along with James one day. He new he would always support James no matter if he was dead or alive. Although poor Sirius didn't know what his future had in store for him, he still felt like the sun was shining brightly because he was surrounded by great friends and he knew he was going to be okay whether something good or bad happened in his life. Sirius knew his life was what he made of it and he would try everything to make it okay and he knew he would give his life up for his best friends. After all, it happened already with Remus being a werewolf and whatnot.
"I don't doubt it for a moment and I hope they do get stuck in there." He smiled. Oh, that would be the day and he was counting on it for it to happen. He knew eventually it would happen and that he would finally be free. Than again, he didn't know what he had coming. But it was for the best. He then grinned at Harry thinking how wonderful and careful his life would be if they were all locked up in that horrible places. A horrible place for horrible people, thats perfect and priceless. He knew he would walk a free man, but than again, he would hear the end of all the horrible things they kept telling him since day one. Ah, that would be pure bliss for poor Sirius. No more whining or complaining. That would be the ultimate golden ticket for him.
"I'm sorry for your parents, if I could switch mine for yours I would do so gladly." he said with a small smile on his face. That would have been perfect if he could. "Oh sometimes I think I am, especially with the pranks and all. " he said with a warm smile. He knew he had to be a little crazy if he was a Black after all.

While Sirius wasn't exactly like the Sirius he knew, it was still perfect for Harry. Just because he knew the older more mature person didn't mean that this younger less mature guy couldn't be the want he had for Sirius Black, his godfather whom died last June to Harry at least, back. While he was here, Harry wanted to make the most of it. Have Sirius back, have his parents back, and even get to know old Lupin as a kid. It was so hard to think of Sirius and Remus as his age, but here was living proof of the weirdness he had encountered.
"Be careful what you wish for, because you might just get it," Harry said in a playful manner, though in all seriousness it was a fair warning to Sirius that maybe some of his family would be thrown into Azkaban, including him. But Harry knew Sirius probably wouldn't ever think that this was his little message, since it was only understandable to those who knew, or suspected. And he was quite sure that Sirius didn't expect him to go to Azkaban ever. Poor Snuffles locked up for something he didn't do.
"I dunno those horrible creatures don't sound too great. Plus I'm proud of my parents, so I wouldn't trade that for the world," Harry replied joking the first sentence, though meaning and being serious in the next, knowing he would never trade James and Lily Potter for the world, even if they were dead from where he came from originally. Harry knew messing with time was dangerous and was still debating whether or not to try and save his parents, but in the back of his mind the thought of the results of that, including no Voldemort for more than a decade, and he was discouraged from it. "Everyone has some crazy in them," Harry stated with a smile, almost with a wolfish glow.

Sirius knew it was awful for him to wish bad on someone, but when it came to his family, he just didn't care what would happen to them. He remembered how much he couldn't stand them and how they had treated him since he started school. He knew his family hated him just because he was in Gryffindor and not a Slytherin. Oh, they held it against him for so long it always seemed to get stuck in his head. He hated it though. Sirius of course really wanted to put it behind him but his family never seemed to drop it. He remembered the summer he learned of a charm to place muggle pictures on the wall of his room. Hhis parents got so upset with him that he couldn't help but to laugh at him all the time they came into the room and yelled at him. Sirius knew he got kicked out for it though, it didn't upset him because he ran to James house that same night.
"That's not what I meant, Harry. I meant if my parents could die for yours to live, I would gladly do so. I just hope my parents wouldn't come to haunt me. Than they would never not nagging me." He chuckled. Of course that would have been horrible if his parents had died and followed him everywhere he went. That was the worse thing they could do. If only Sirius could kill without consequence, but he knew killing his own family would not help him. He would have been rotting in jail, but poor Sirius was unawareful of his future. Sirius didn't think too much of the future, he knew that things happened for a reason and if something happened, he knew he was probably meant for it. Sirius knew he could take on anything if he put his mind to it.

Harry wasn't really too worried about being here back in time. As long as his mum didn't develop a crush on him and keep James and Lily from getting together, he would be fine. Maybe he could even change the world for the better. The next time he saw Dumbledore he would tell him about the private lessons he had promised him over the summer, 20 years from now, and maybe Dumbledore could help him understand whatever he was going to teach him about Tom Riddle. Maybe he could destroy Tom before he went after his parents, and then it would be a peaceful time. But all of this was wishful thinking and on the trait where he didn't like just sitting around waiting for things to happen. He would definitely remember to ask Dumbledore about it.
"Oh sorry... But so you know, my parents died for a reason, and the only reason I'm aliv is because my mum sacrificed herself for me. It was their choice to die and protect me, or run and be alive but with me dying," Harry replied, "I don't think your parents would've taken their place, no matter what happened" Harry was fumbling over what to say, and how much he would reveal.

Sirius smiled some as Harry spoke about his parents. He knoew that was an honorable way to die and Sirius knew if he had a way to die it would be just as honorable as that. Sirius knew that he had to do something good for himself every once and a while but if he had to die, he might as well die with honor. Sirius run his fingers through his thick black hair as he looked at Harry. "I'm sorry about that. What were their names? " he asked wondering more about his family. "And whos side is rather to James?" he wondered about that as well.
Sirius had those questions suddenly popping up in his mind and he wondered about them. If his parents are part of the Potters, why move to America? Wouldn't they want to be closer to their family? Sirius knew there wasn't that many issues in his family and they have been generally good about who they are. He looked up and saw his owl flying overhead and drop a letter on the table. He picked it up, it was from his parents and it was another Howler. Sirius looked upset. "Bloody parents, what do they want now?" he shook his head.

Harry knew that Sirius was probably happy the way he died in Harry's time, fighting the Death Eaters for the protection of Harry and the wizarding world. Even still, Harry wasn't happy with it, since it happened so quickly that it was hard to even comprehend at first. Harry wanted Sirius to grow old and meet Harry's future children (if he ever had any), but that was very selfish of Harry. That would mean that Sirius couldn't go to save people in trouble, or anything, which would make him unhappy and Harry didn't want that. What were their names? Harry needed to make a couple of names up now, though Harry didn't want to lie. "Jarod and Lilianna Potter," Harry replied trying to make up names that almost sounded like their names, so Harry wouldn't feel as bad as if he just made up random names to use, and it was easier to stick with, "On his father's side. My great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandparents and his great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandparents are the same... I think I added enough greats in there."
Harry saw the bird deliver a howler to Sirius and look at him with an eyebrow raised. This didn't look good. Harry had only seen a howler a couple of times, and both times they delivered some bad news. "Uh oh. I would run with that right now if I were you," Harry warned remembering when Ron got his howler and where he tried running once, but his mum yelled loud enough that the whole Great Hall could hear it even if he was out of the hall.
